ANALYSIS OF THE SPECTRUM OF ELECTRONIC STATES IN A CRYSTALLINE NANOFILM WITH A COMPLEX LATTICE

Abstract:
The energy spectra and spatial distribution of electrons in crystalline nanofilms with two sublattices were determined here using the method of two-time and temperature-dependent Green's functions. Compared to the properties of bulk samples, the small thickness, the presence of boundaries and the energetic change of boundary parameters lead to changed or completely new physical properties and specific effects, which are crucial for fundamental knowledge of the mechanisms of these changes, for more precise application in nanotechnology. The paper examines the influence of boundaries and perturbation energy parameters on the relevant physical properties of these structures. It was found that the energy spectrum has two allowed and one forbidden band, and that localization of some of the electronic states can also occur in the observed nanofilm. By analyzing the spatial distribution of these states, we determined that the probability of finding electrons is particularly high at the film boundaries and decreases towards its inner layers. These states have a direct impact on modifying the transport characteristics of the material.
